What is Tasked?
A place to post small one-off jobs (mowing, moving, cleaning, that sort of thing) and get matched with someone nearby who'll do it. Payment is held safely until the job's actually done.
How much does it cost?
The price shown on a job is exactly what the worker gets, in full. As the poster, you pay that price plus a 6% Tasked service fee, plus a small payment processing fee. The full breakdown is shown before you pay, on the job page and the post-a-job form.
How is my payment protected?
When you pay for a job, the money is held on the platform, not sent to the worker straight away. It only gets released once you confirm the job is actually done (see "How it works" on the homepage).
How do I get paid as a worker?
Once you're accepted for a job and it's marked complete, payment is sent straight to your bank account via Stripe. You'll need to set up payouts once from Account → Payouts. Stripe handles identity verification, and Tasked never sees your bank details directly. It can take up to a few business days for the payout to actually clear and land in your account once it's sent.
Can I cancel a job?
Posters can cancel a job any time before it's marked complete. If payment was already held, it's automatically refunded. No action needed on your part.
What if a job doesn't go well?
You can report a job from its page and an admin will review it. If a worker never shows up or a poster won't pay fairly, don't confirm the job as complete. Payment only releases when the poster actively confirms.
Who sees my contact details?
Nobody, until a job is actually assigned. Once a poster accepts an applicant, that specific poster and worker can see each other's name, email, and phone number (if provided), never any other applicant, never the public.
Do I need to pay tax on what I earn?
Yes. You're responsible for declaring your own earnings from Tasked to Inland Revenue and paying any income tax owed on them. Tasked collects your IRD number (from Account → Payouts) for platform reporting purposes, but that doesn't change your own tax obligations. See the full breakdown in our Terms page.
What kind of jobs can I post?
One-off tasks: help around the house or yard, moving a few boxes, that sort of thing. Tasked isn't a job board for full-time, part-time, or ongoing work.
